Privacy Policy

CAFESSIO: Tea & Matcha Brewer (package com.cafessio.specialtytea) is a tea and matcha brewing timer and journal for Android. This policy explains what happens to your information. The short version: nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, because the app has no way to connect to the internet.

What we collect

Nothing.

This is a property of how the app is built, not a promise about how we behave. The app does not request Android’s INTERNET permission, so it cannot open a network connection or transmit your information anywhere. We have no server and no account system, and we never see your data.

What the app stores on your device

Everything you create stays in the app’s private storage on your phone:

• Your teas and matcha tins, including origin, cultivar, harvest, price and remaining grams
• Your teaware and water profiles
• Recipes you create or save from a session
• Your brew sessions and journal: every infusion time, ratings, tags and tasting notes
• Your settings and preferences (units, theme, language)

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes all of it.

Android device backup

The app allows Android’s standard device backup. If you have turned on backup for your phone, Android may include this app’s data in the backup it stores in your own Google account, so it can be restored when you set up a new phone. That backup is made by Android and Google, not by us, under Google’s privacy policy, and we cannot access it. You can turn device backup on or off in your phone’s settings.

What we do not collect or request

• No account, sign-in, name or email address
• No location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos
• No advertising identifier
• No analytics, tracking or crash reporting
• No advertising

We do not sell, share, rent or broker your information. There is nothing to sell.

Permissions and why

The app declares these permissions for its timers:

• Notifications: to show the running steep and alert you when it ends. On Android 13 and newer you are asked before any notification is shown
• Exact alarms: so a steep or a cold brew alerts at the exact moment you set, even with the screen off
• Promoted notifications: on Android 16, to show the running steep as a live update
• Vibration: for steep and whisk alerts

Android’s background task library (WorkManager), which the app uses, adds four more standard permissions: keeping the processor awake while a task runs, running a foreground task, restoring scheduled tasks after the phone restarts, and checking whether a network is available. That last one only lets the library know if the phone is online; it does not allow a connection, and the app still has no internet permission.

Payments

The app is a one-time paid download on Google Play (USD 5.99) with everything included. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions. The purchase is handled entirely by Google Play: we never see, receive or store your payment details.

Google Play collects information about app downloads and purchases independently of this app, under Google’s own privacy policy.

Children

The app is not directed at children, and it collects no information from anyone, children included.

Your rights

Because your data never reaches us, there is no request to make of us:

• To see your data: open the app
• To delete it:delete individual records, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app

We cannot access, correct or delete your information on your behalf, because we do not have it.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this document — adding internet access, analytics, crash reporting or in-app purchases — this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
